Prayers for Pentecost – the Coming of the Holy Spirit
‘And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting….all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit’ Acts 2: 2-4
‘The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control’ Galatians 5: 22-23
Lord we pray for your Spirit to fill us,
and for our lives to bear the fruit of your Spirit.
Breathe on me, Breath of God,
fill me with life anew,
that I may love the way you love,
and do what you would do.
‘Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. And God, who searches the heart, know what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.’ Romans 8: 26-27
We pray for all those to be confirmed in June at All Saints Staplehurst. We pray that as they receive the gift of the Holy Spirit their lives are inspired to follow the example of your son, Jesus Christ, and that they may live in the confidence of your loving care.
