Staplehurst Bellringers Report August 2026

As I write this report, the temperature is approaching 36 degrees, and it is strange to think that by the time you read it we will be approaching autumn.  This will be somewhat of a blessing for our ringers who have suffered many hot practice nights over the last few months.  Ringing itself makes you warm, and a bottle of water has been a necessity.

We have just two extra ringing events during September.  Firstly, on Tuesday 8th we will be welcoming the COOTS bellringers between 11.45 am and 12.45 pm.  They are a group of (mainly) retired people from all over Kent who meet on the second Tuesday in each month to ring at a couple of churches and then have a leisurely lunch together.  In case anyone is wondering, their name is an acronym for Come Out On Tuesdays Sometimes.  Nothing to do with birds, although their logo is in fact a coot!

On Monday 14th September we will be holding our monthly advanced practice from 7.30 – 9 pm.  Otherwise, we will be ringing for our regular Tuesday practice and for Sunday Services.
