Staplehurst Bellringers Report March 2026

As most of our readers will know, following the pandemic we recruited a number of new ringers.  Some have sadly fallen by the wayside but fortunately most of them have progressed well.  One of the latter is Mike Pink, who on Sunday 1st February rang his first quarter-peal. A quarter-peal comprises around 45 minutes of continuous ringing and requires a great deal of concentration.  Congratulations to Mike on achieving what is a milestone in a ringer’s career.

Looking ahead, on Monday 9th March from 7.30 – 9pm we will be holding the latest in our series of monthly additional practices.  Then at the Morning Service on Mothering Sunday 15th March we also hope to be ringing during the “clipping” of the church. This is a tradition, thought to be unique to Staplehurst, where the congregation encircle the church building as if to embrace mother church.  Otherwise we will be ringing for the usual Sunday Services and on our usual Tuesday Practice night.  Up to date details can always be found here or contact me on 07718 216762.
